That's true (as far as I've understood things); but that's largely due to the fact that there was such an incerdibly high voter turnout. It doesn't necessarily mean that, ratio-wise, he is the most popular president ever elected :o) I'm sure you figured that out! Anyway, Mels, I'm glad your students can't give you TOO much trouble...And I have to admit that I was surprised that Kerry conceded without a kurfoffel (kartoffel?). Unless it's just some sort of a ruse, or these--what was it, 30,000 lawyers, or something?--decide to make trouble later, once they figure out a way to do it...well, I'm prepared to call him wise on at least this ONE point!

i do hand it to kerry for conceding. i can say that he saved me a lot of (potential) heartache in the classroom.

when my students started to say, "oh, this is going to be just like florida..." i quickly pointed out that bush was already ahead, and if it indeed was to be carried on, it would only be due to kerry's wanting that to be done. (which i admit would have been his right.) nevertheless, i am really thankful to see how the Lord answered my prayers about things being clear (especially since ohio is my home state.)

however, it wouldn't surprise me if his concession will probably have one of those "oh, isn't he noble?" effects.

one question. i heard on the radio today that bush got the most popular votes in election history. is that true, or did i somehow misinterpret what was said?
