jen, i think the injury about which you are thinking happened in a skiing accident. (unless there's something he hasn't told me :) i know there was a lot of question when it happened as to what the future would hold. he has quite a scar, but with the exception of a few minor things, he does have full use of the hand - really a miracle! and thanks, we could use your prayers!

My dad was stationed at hanscom for a little while. I love the city, it has the histroy, the grit, and enough cozy suburbs to make it one of the most enchanting little corners of the earth. Have you gone quahog digging yet? :-) we used to tell tourists that they lived in trees so they would never find our digging spots. Good times...

Well, I'm actually looking right now at an autographed photo of Bobby Ore, if that means anything to you. It honestly, though, doesn't mean much to me. Baseball is the only sport around here I've really grown involved in, so far. I have gone to some Bruins games, but that was years ago, when my dad could still make me ;o) (It's his autographed photo, by the way...not mine.) I have found myself listening to am sports radio now, though, and this actually frightens me. I think I am getting sucked into an inescapable black hole of goals, nets, RBI's, and grand slams. Now I want Boston to win EVERYTHING :o) So, we'll see if the Bruins survive long enough this year to make things interesting!

But, yeah, I didn't think of the whole endless-medical-school
thing! Poor Josh. Poor Heidi! Well, we know he'll be ready, once he finishes! I do remember when he injured his hand in a Chi Delt basketball game, and there'd been the possability that it would affect his future ability as a surgeon. If I remember correctly, the lord healed his hand and there were no major complications. I always thought he would make a wonderful medical missionary, based even on what little I knew of him. Now I have a missions-minded couple to pray for! Wonderful :o)

Timf! A hullite! Hullian? Hullenese? I don't know, but I had no inkling you were from these parts :o) How long ago did you live there? I'm not particularly familiar with Hull myself, but Massachusetts is small enough (especially the eastern part) for it not to matter. We're neighbors, or were, as far as I'm concerned.

And Joy's got Boston blood in her! This is wierd. In a good way. As I said once before, a Bensfriends Field Trip up the Eastern seaboard is in order.

So, is that THE Heidi Washer again? Thanks for visiting! I actualy meant to ask back on Mels' blog what your and Josh's plans for the near future were. I remembered one of his speeches for that aforementioned speech class was about medical missions. Another one (or was it the same one?) was about the life cycle of malaria; just curious if you guys had any plans for heading off to Africa ... ? ;o)

Gwen, I'm glad you're seeing things my way. Any day, now, I MIGHT actually follow through and get those pics to you! Maybe I should see if Melita has any. Her camera does a way-better job. (Okay, SHE does a way better job! I admit it! :o)
