Felicia! I'm so excited you posted! that's amazing. it also helps let other people know that this awesome church family I'm always talking about actually exists :o) What I need for your post, though, is a good pic (or pics) so that people can put a face with YOUR name. Melita sent em one, but it was too big to upload :o)

Joy, your church sounds enchanting. I think I'd feel very at home there :o)

this sooo reminds me of the first baptism our church plant had a couple years ago. marc was talking about his first impression of pastor's sermon, and he used a negative word that most people who've been in churches for 5-30 years wouldn't say, especially not in church. (and that's the toned-down word - i'm sure when he was an unbeliever, he actually used a different word to describe the first sermon he'd heard.) and everyone just chuckled and leaned forward in their chairs to hear the rest of his story.

and his sister, still unsaved, was sitting in the audience, saying out loud - i love you.

we've had several baptisms since - in a horse trough, in a swimming pool - and all of them sweet. not sweet because we're seeing converts or because we're filling some kind of quota or because we're having stuff happen that other churches see happening. but sweet because each unique believer is a unique exhibit of God's grace....
