Jen,
This message comes with deepest regrets:
I need your phone number some time. I was in the north end all day today. I tried several ways of getting in contact with you but, alas, my resources proved to be terribly limited. Even more tragic, I am leaving in nine hours. So sorry! Andrea Towle sends her regards.

I am also reading Real Sex by Lauren Winner and am enjoying it very much. For once someone isn't saying be chaste so you can get the right spouse.

I also took advantage of the free offer, but sadly I haven't finished the book quite yet. What I have read was excellent because, like you pointed out, it was written by Piper.
I did want to put a recommendation on this post for a book for men only. Fidelity by Douglas Wilson (subtitled: "What it means to be a one woman man"). I've been reading this book along with the other men in my Sheparding Group and it is, as the author puts it, a "blunt instrument." There is no skirting of any subject, the author bluntly speaks what the Bible has to say about sex. Single or Married, I would recommend this to any man.

I took advantage of the same offer (a free book is always hard to pass up) and really appreciated the Biblical viewpoints in the work. I understand your disappointments with it, but overall the reason I like S&SOC so much was because as you said, sex is something everyone thinks about (- and talks about - and hears about - all too frequently from a wrong perspective.)
For me, it was refreshing in that sense - and I always appreciate Piper's take on issues.

So, I echo your conclusions. Great book.

Jen, if no one has recommended Lauren Winner's book Real Sex: The Naked Truth About Chastity to you yet, allow me to be the first. It's one of the most honest, relevant books I've read on the topic and I'm pretty sure you would find it interesting to say the least. She does a great job of confronting all the tough questions and puts sex and marriage in perspective with the Church and how it affects our community with other believers.
